Solution: To disable the flash uploader and use the standard file uploader just go into the Site >Global Configuration and click on the System tab. At the bottom you will see "Enable Flash Uploader. Set it to "No" and your uploader will work.
Log into your administrator panel at http://www.your-website.com/administrator This will get you to the control panel, shown below. In the control panel click on site > media manager button

When you click the button illustrated above the window below will appear. All images that are used in article will go in the folder called "stories" marked in red below. Open the stories folder by clicking on it.

You are now inside the stories folder in the illustration below. You can see the path of the folder you are in and you can also create a new folder at this point if need be.

When you are in the folder you want to upload your new images into click the "browse" button illustrated below to locate the image on your computer. You may need to scroll down to see the browse button as it is at the bottom of the page.

When the browse button is clicked a new small window will open so you can choose your images to upload. Once you hove chosen the image click the upload button and your image will be uploaded to the server.

That's it! You have uploaded images to the server via the media manager.
